What Is a
Sober Living Facility?

Sober living homes are living spaces or facilities designed to facilitate sobriety and promote sustainable, healthy habits. By staying in a sober living facility in a beautiful setting, patients can work on themselves in the company of other residents in recovery from all backgrounds and experiences and develop skills for their journey.

The goal of a sober living home is to help with the transition from inpatient treatment or outpatient programs to day-to-day life with sobriety. At Psyclarity, our San Diego sober living houses provide minimal distractions and helpful resources for patients to engage with each other and learn the skills they need for their recovery-driven future.

A sober living community or sober living network is a vital step for patients recovering from substance use disorder to build a support system for achieving long-term sobriety and remaining abstinent from drugs and alcohol. With opportunities in the San Diego area, patients can establish new daily routines, learn new hobbies, and heal in a safe and rewarding space.

Are You Ready For Lasting Recovery?

What Does Life in a
Psyclarity Sober Living Home Look Like?

At Psyclarity, we strive to provide a safe and healthy environment for every patient on the road to sobriety. Our sober living homes adhere to the highest standard of care and accountability. All patients must commit to this standard for relapse prevention and their personal safety, as well as the safety of the other residents.

This is not to say that we don’t understand the struggles involved in addiction, recovery, and sobriety. Our compassionate staff is prepared to offer support, structure, and resources for an honest admission of relapse or a brief lapse in judgment. Together, we’ll recommit to a life of sobriety and safety.

In our sober living facilities, abstinence from drugs and alcohol is essential for every patient. Our staff will perform random drug testing as a precautionary measure and to recognize patients that may need more support. All patients must adhere to a curfew and show respect and appreciation for the other residents and staff.

When you enter into sober living, we require a commitment to ongoing treatment, regular meetings or therapy, participation in house responsibilities, and mandatory support groups. Patients are not allowed pets or overnight guests. Internet access is provided on a case-by-case basis

Long-Term Sobriety Begins
at Psyclarity San Diego Sober Living.
Start Your Transition.

A sober living community isn’t an opportunity to party or build contacts. It’s the midpoint between Inpatient or Outpatient treatment programs to help you transition into your new sober lifestyle. It’s the last step in gaining your independence and preparing to reintegrate into daily life with strong accountability and habits. Sober living homes promote sobriety and personal well-being with a family of peers and staff.

Sober living homes are a vital step in achieving your personal goals and advancing your lasting recovery with a clear mind and clear purpose.

Sober Living:
Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about San Diego sober living homes and supportive housing in recovery? Here are the answers to the most common questions.

How Long Does Supportive Housing Last?

Every recovery journey with drug rehab is different. How long you spend in supportive housing depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people spend a few weeks in sober houses, while others may stay for an extended period. The goal is to achieve your recovery, not finish the program as quickly as possible.

What If I Use While in a Sober House?

Sober homes give you life skills and group therapy to transition to independent living with successful sobriety. Sober houses are drug and alcohol free to reduce the risk of temptation and relapse with drug addiction, so it’s not appropriate for your own recovery or anyone else’s to be using during your stay. If you’re concerned about relapse or actively using, speak to your care team or house manager about the next steps.

What’s the Difference Between Sober Houses and Halfway Houses?

Sober house and halfway houses have similarities but different purposes. Sober houses are a transitional environment for people recovering from drug or alcohol addiction, while halfway houses are for people transitioning out of an institution.
