Heal, Recover, and Prepare
in a Sober Living Community

What Is a
Sober Living Facility?

Also called halfway houses, sober living environments, and sober living communities, sober living homes are designated living spaces for patients in recovery to learn coping skills and reintegrate into society. With the support of peers with a common goal and experienced clinical and house staff, patients have a safe and comfortable space to share the recovery journey together.

The goal of sober living facilities is to help patients transition from Inpatient or Outpatient treatment programs into day-to-day life with employment, family, and friends. At Psyclarity, our sober living homes in New Jersey are located in a quiet neighborhood, free of distractions, with opportunities for residents to spend time together and enjoy hobbies or experiences locally.

Most importantly, sober living homes and halfway houses provide a support system. Instead of reintegrating into daily life directly from intensive treatment, patients can support each other in the recovery journey and develop healthy habits, robust coping skills, and new daily routines. It’s a space to heal and prepare for a new life on a solid foundation on which to build a new life and safely return home.

What Does Life in a
Psyclarity Sober Living Home Look Like?

Psyclarity holds the highest standard of care and accountability for ourselves and our patients in a sober living facility. We strive to provide a safe and healthy environment that prioritizes personal accountability and awareness. All patients in our facilities must share in this commitment to personal safety and relapse prevention, not just for themselves, but for their fellow residents.

This is not to say that we don’t understand and empathize with the struggles of our patients. When an admission of relapse or temptation, poor judgment, or other issues arise, we show the utmost compassion and understanding. It’s important to move forward with a renewed commitment to sobriety, however.

Recovery from drugs and alcohol can be an ongoing struggle. Abstinence has to be maintained for a truly sober life and healthy future. Our clinical staff will regularly perform random drug testing and enforce a curfew for the best interests of our patients. Participants must also show respect for staff and peers in all activities and interactions.

To become part of our New Jersey sober living homes, patients must commit to ongoing treatment, regular meetings, mandatory support groups, and house chores or expenses. We do not allow pets or overnight guests, and internet access will only be granted on a case-by-case basis.
